As a youngster I can remember waking up early every Saturday morning with the anticipation of a Christmas day. Pj's , Froot Loops, and early morning cartoons was the routine as I sat alone in the living room too oblivious to anything else.
Amongst brief intermissions of Slinky, Connect Four, and "You sank my Battleship" commercials were the School-House Rock episodes. Classic, long lost era of a time when educating youth via public television was considered a wise investment and obligation of your local broadcasting channel.
Nonetheless, in the midst of Conjunctions, their functions, Lolly's adverbs, and Nouns, there was always that one that showed up to give you a pound. The afro sportin' soul-inspired brotherman who's 70's soundtrack-track was composed on a .45 from the black-hand side. VERB! "THAT'S WHAT'S HAPPENIN'!" He was cool, smooth, musclebound, with words strong! More than a match for any cat who couldn't articulate action like that!
