Just happened to be sitting at the campus of an institution of higher
learning earlier today on my day off, enjoying the day with a close
friend. We observed a small crowd of middle-school aged students who
were obviously on some sort of campus visit. Sifting through the young
people we were both saddened to see only one African-American child
amongst the group of predominantly Indian children, and began
discussing our common plight and it's possible causes. During our
discussion, I immediately remembered a statistic I heard on CNN two days
ago, one of which I'm too ashamed to repeat. Trade-in your kid's memory
cards for a library card if you haven't already done so.
